About the Project

Every year, various countries organize a cultural event to celebrate the French language which is the Week of Francophonie.

Challenge

Create a poster for the Francophonie Week and a banner for the website that represent the theme: La magie des mots.

Solution

At first, I searched for fonts, color palettes, illustrations, previous Francophonie posters, and other posters that might be useful. The idea was to represent the magic of words without obviously showing magical objects. Then I started sketching.

My original plan was to create an open book in which Semaine de la Francophonie come out in a magical way. However, I wasn’t entirely satisfied, so I continued thinking about it and draw many ideas until I found my idea which is the second sketch on the picture. My concept was to create the word Francophonie by making small letters coming from all around from the paper sides.I then started using Illustrator to create the background.Even though it took a long time, I was able to manage my time to finish before the deadline.I was also excited to so the en result. I then added the remaining text, the speech bubbles, and the stars using InDesign.
